Hoyt and I
for years have had an ongoing hair growing contest. The one with the
longest hair wins! Although he might be winning right now, I'd like to
remind Hoyt that his hair has never been this long! (2010 Prone to
Panic! Candy Apple Blue Photo Session) ~ Carly xoxo

"I
mastered this release without the heavy use of compression and limiters
in hopes to preserve it's musical dynamics. Ultimately, giving the
track more head room to properly breath. I personally feel that the
'loudness war' is over. Musical dynamics wins every time in my book." ~

Alice's Last Halloween is based off of a screenplay that we started writing 10 years back but never finished. So we found it only fitting, being songwriters at heart, that we try to tell you the story in a 4 and a half minute pop song!
It's a story song about an urban legend, that we heard as kids, that Halloween candy can sometimes be tampered with in order to cause harm to those who eat it. All of this is centered around a character we created named Alice Crowley.
Alice's Last Halloween was composed in the key signature of Ebm Minor.
Verse One:
She looked like an older version of Bette Davis or Liz Taylor
Yeah she could have been a movie star
but in this town no one gets too far
It was 1982, I was probably seven then,
We lived in a little town called Monongahela
Chorus:
It was Alice's last Halloween
I saw the knife and I heard her scream
The neighborhood was an angry mob
A museum of the macabre
Alice's last Halloween
A wicked witch with an evil scheme
Now children of the Mon Valley
are haunted by the ghost of Mrs. Crowley
Verse Two:
A cold night in late October carving pumpkins on All Hallows Eve
I was dressed as Bozo the Clown
Trick or tricking as the sun went down
She was passing out home baked goods, to the children of the neighborhood
It was a night that I'll always remember
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse Three:
Found a needle in my candy apple, broken glass in my Hershey's bar
My sister Helen found a razor blade in the cookies that Alice made
The word spread like wild fire, urban legend turned living hell
What exactly happened that night, Alice never lived to tell
(Repeat Chorus)
Ad-Lib:
Alice's last Halloween, ghosts and goblins kill the queen.
Alice's last Halloween, Alice's last Halloween
