"Mistake" filming of a Music Video (12 photos)

With the best of intentions, Hoyt and I went out to shoot the music video for "Mistake" today! We had a hard time finding the target location that we had in mind and before we knew it we found ourselves walking for over an hour to get there! Keep in mind that we were carrying heavy production equipment. 

It was a hot and humid day and mother nature decided that it was a good time to rain. So Hoyt & I totally got caught in the rain carrying all of our recording gear. By the time we got there it was nearing dark. So unfortunately, none of the film footage we shot was really usable. Nor did it fit into our artistic direction for our upcoming music video. We wanted to share with you some still frame footage that ended up on the cutting room floor. Don't get me wrong, we had a blast and still managed to keep a positive outlook! All in all, it was a fun two hour hike and it actually felt so wonderful to be walking in the pouring rain! ~ Love & Laughs, Carly

The Feeling Doesn't Last Forever was a song that Hoyt & I composed with so much love and enthusiasm. We wrote the song for a Barbra Streisand type vocalist but decided to demo it ourselves. The track had more of a sophisticated edge to it which admittedly wasn't right for our band project, Candy Apple Blue. For a short time only it was available for download.

The demo that we put out was a little rough, we didn't really nail it vocally and thought it best to just pull it until we find the right singer for this particular song. We want to thank all of our friends for their wonderful input, support and love for the song! Hopefully you haven't heard the last of it.
