Candy Apple Blue covers Dead or Alive's "Then There Was You" with dance music producer extraordinaire Project K.
The band returns to their gothic sensibilities ☠️, promising to deliver another memorable musical moment!
Candy Apple Blue's commitment to pushing the boundaries of how covers can be reimagined seems endless.
Carly of the band said, "We added some new layers of vocal harmonies that weren't in the original version. We also threw in a few easter eggs for true Dead or Alive fans. We put our own fingerprints on the composition, of course, while still honoring the original. It was also important for us to give our listeners an extended dance mix! Therefore, creating two distinct versions of the song. The extended mix will give listeners even more of that dark, immersive sound that makes this particular track so compelling."
Hoyt said, "It was a calculated decision to cut Then There Was You. It has a dark, atmospheric melody that aligns perfectly with Nick's vocal strengths. The gothic undertones create a moody foundation while the dance production will elevate your mood in unexpected ways."
Nick said, "The excitement is building! We were immensely pleased with how well our first DOA cover was received. We know that Matt Pop was a key factor in the success of Special Star ⭐. We also know that we are in good hands with Project K! He's poured his musical heart into the reimaging of Then There Was You, and it shows! The original song is a deep cut from the album Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know."
With Project K's production expertise and Candy Apple Blue's gothic sensibilities, Then There Was You promises to be another memorable moment for the band. If you are a Pete Burns and Dead or Alive fan, don't miss this one!
