Putting the spotlight on Nick Bramlett's gorgeous voice seemed like a no-brainer. His vocal performances are always delivered with a passion and warmth that's become his signature sound.

We decided to release an a cappella version of Then There Was You, like we did for Special Star, at the request of some listeners in our inner circle. Their wish was our command. How could we refuse? So without further ado, we present to you the a cappella version of Then There Was You.

This is the second installment of our Then There Was You 3-part digital singles collection.

Following the success of "Special Star," we teamed up with Nick Bramlett and dance music producer Project K to reimagine Dead Or Alive's iconic album deep cut. ☠️

Tackling another track from Dead Or Alive's iconic repertoire was artistically rewarding and a lot of fun for us! By blending an electrifying vocal performance with a fresh arrangement, we have created a version that is distinctly different from the original. We are incredibly grateful for the fan support of Project K's Rip It Up Remix of the song.

Working With Project K

Carly Emerick of Candy Apple Blue 

My favorite part of covering Dead Or Alive's "Then There Was You" was getting the opportunity to work with dance music producer James Blair (AKA Project K). Collaborating with James on this release has been incredibly rewarding, artistically speaking.

Beyond the music, we immediately developed a strong kinship and found that we share similar worldviews.

Interestingly enough, we both had the chance to meet Pete Burns during his lifetime. I'd like to think that, in some strange way, Pete brought us together to make this collaboration happen.
